Davenport to lead Fayette Youth Protection Homes, Inc.A new executive director has been named for Fayette Youth Protection Homes, Inc. Becky Davenport, who previously served as program director and childrens program director at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, will take over the role. She replaces Sonja Strickland, who let the position to work at the Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence. FYPH President Ross Berry said Davenport was a good fit because of her experience at the church where she built successful programs that attracted interest. Her insight and creativity will be invaluable to the Fayette Youth Protection Homes, Berry said. Davenport said she was looking forward to the unique challenge. The homes are well-known and supported in the community, but that support needs direction to alleviate the yearly shortfall in funding, Davenport said. I also look forward to working with the very capable people who oversee the programs. It is fulfilling to have a small part in aiding abused or neglected children. Fayette Youth Protection Homes Inc. consists of the two houses known as the Friday and Johnson Homes, which were established in 1986 to provide a loving home environment for children who are victims of abuse or neglect.
