Helen Byars Perry, 81, Newnan, died June 8, 2004. She was born March 7, 1923 in Georgia, the daughter of Horry and Beulah Pendley Byars. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Perry, in December, 2003. She had lived most of her life in Atlanta. She was a member of Grace Community Fellowship Church. She was retired as a teller from First National Bank at West end Atlanta, and then could be found at her husbands restaurant, Perrys Burger Basket, in Newnan. She was a member of Senior Friends, AARP, and Creek Jumpers Camping Club.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Carl Greene officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan.
Survivors include daughters, Marsha and Billy Hughes, Waynesboro, Ga., Barbara and Joe Cochran, Palm Harbor, Fla.; grandchildren, Holly and Raymond Brown, Palm Harbor, Fla., Ben and Melinda Cochran, Douglasville, Paul Davis, Philadelphia, Pa., John Davis, Athens, Ga., John and Karen Hughes, Wilson, N. C., and Cynthia Hughes, Brunswick; and nine great-grandchildren.

William Edgar High, 57, Newnan, died June 9, 2004. He was born Feb. 28, 1947 in Pike County, son of the late Julian and Nell Lott High.
Services were in the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with interment at Perote Cemetery, Perote, Ala.
Survivors include a son, Michael High, Woodstock, Ga.; daughters, Ginger Danson, Greensboro, Ga., and Angela High, Newnan; brothers, Frankie High, Perote, Ala., and Buddy High, Montgomery, Ala.; and three grandchildren.

Emma Louise Hudgens, 90, Palmetto, died June 9, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. J. Hudgens, a granddaughter, Linda Smith, and great-grandson, Kevin Smith.
Services were at the Higgins Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Joe Mauthe officiating. Interment was t the Hudgens Family Cemetery on Welcome All Road, College Park.
Survivors include children, J. C. and Betty Hudgens, Janice Smith, Pauline and Willie Parker, Mary Sessions, Glenda and Frank Kunz, Diane Hudgens, Gail and Wayne Beck, and Deborah and Tim Pinson.

Carl H. Pennell, 76, Newnan, died June 10, 2004. He was born June 26, 1927 in Hogansville, son of the late Jesse and Arie Potts Pannell. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny H. Pannell. He served in the United States Army in World War II, and was employed as a police officer for the city of Villa Rica, Ga.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Fleming officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Pannell, Newnan; daughters, Shirley P. Borders, and Darlene Pennell and William Callahan, all of Newnan, and Elizabeth and Sam Blount, Mecosta, Mich.; 30 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Donald Joseph Amis Jr., 57, Newnan, died June 11, 2004. He was born May 27, 1957 in Newnan. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was employed by Groove Pin and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Gene Tyre and the Rev. Jerry Walker officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include his parents, Donald Joseph and Joyce Watts Amis Sr.; a son, D. J. Amis, Atlanta; a sister, Judy Amis, Peachtree City; and the mother of their son, Cherie Stoddard.
