Scott Jordan’s eternal life has now begun

[Editor’s note: Fayetteville wife and mother Richelle Jordan has been sharing with readers of The Citizen the experiences of her family during the illness of her husband Scott, a former Cooper Lighting employee who has been battling a brain tumor for more than two years. Scott was admitted to Southwest Christian Hospice in Union City earlier this year.]

Hello, everyone. Scott passed away [Saturday, May 29] at 12:04 p.m. Although I already miss him terribly, I still have a peace knowing that he has begun his eternal life. After struggling to breathe for several hours, I believe he actually died from respiratory failure.

This has certainly been an incredible fight as he has endured for just over 26 months. I have learned about and loved my husband even more than I ever dreamed. Scott has truly shown his amazing character and desire to live life to the fullest. This has been the long goodbye.

[The funeral was Tuesday.]

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Scott Jordan Fund, Southern Community Bank, 525 N. Jeff Davis Dr., P.O. Box 142069, Fayetteville, GA 30214 (770-461-4365).

The fund will later become a savings/college fund for Ryan and Katherine. Donations may also be made to Southwest Christian Hospice and Hope House, 7225 Lester Rd., Union City, 30269, 770-969-8354.

Richelle Jordan
