Many Americans seem to have a short memory

America is finished. This country has long defended freedom, anywhere in the world, at any time, at any cost. There have been thousands who have perished fighting against oppression and liberating nations. The home front has been a place where the people, who were not fighting in the war, sacrificed to see that the soldiers had whatever they needed in order to be successful in their heroic endeavors. I fear those days have passed.

I see the Democrats wringing their hands hourly over the loss of life in this struggle. The last time I checked, our enemies have weapons, as well. Sometimes they fire them and kill or wound our soldiers. That is a fact of war. There is no way to avoid it.

I see Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) calling for a draft because he says that there are more poor and minorities in the service than there are of the rich and white, I suppose.

That is a bunch of malarkey. That is Democratic Party election year poppycock. Whenever I see any one of our brave soldiers, be he white, black, Hispanic, Asian, male or female, all I see is an American who is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to defend something wholesome and worthwhile: Freedom.

I see these clowns on the bogus 9-11 Commission, and their high and mighty Monday morning quarterbacking mentality, questioning people whose very lives had been placed on the line with the sole objective of saving others on Sept. 11, 2001. Families blaming the city of New York for the deaths of loved ones while declining to feel anger for the only people that rational people can blame, the terrorists. It was a sickening display of un-Americanism and cowardice.

Americans have a very short memory. Darrell Worley had a country hit, “Have You Forgotten?” Unfortunately, I believe America has. At least the Democrats have. The footage of the 9-11 attacks needs to be broadcast weekly so we don’t forget.

WE were attacked. WE lost more people on 9-11 than we did at Pearl Harbor. WE must answer this attack with great force and great ferocity.

President Bush has understood that from the very beginning. He has stood with great courage, firm resolve, and with the solemn vow to avenge the innocent lives lost on that fateful day. Regrettably, he has often stood alone.

The video of Nicholas Berg’s beheading needs to be seen by every American, as well. We need to see the barbarism of our enemy. If they had a nuclear, chemical or biological weapon, they would use it in a heartbeat. They would even use it on other Muslims who, simply, aren’t Muslim enough.

The video of Berg’s execution blames the act on the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison. The beheading took place two weeks before the photos of the abuses were released. These Muslim cowards did the same thing to Daniel Pearl and those four Italian soldiers that were captured and killed.

Like Zell Miller, a great American, I believe that George W. Bush is the right man at the right time in the right office. I also hope that the despicable, traitorous behavior of the Democrats, and their supporters, can be blamed on the desperate election year ploy to get John Kerry elected President. If not, then America’s days are numbered.

I hope God continues to bless America.
