USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour comes to Senoia

The United Sprint Car Series Asphalt Thunder Tour will be in action this Saturday night at Senoia Speedway. The USCS winged outlaw sprint cars are pound-for-pound the most powerful short track racing cars in the world, and will be turning the fastest speeds ever recorded the 3/8-mile paved oval.

The USCS winged outlaw sprint cars weigh just 1,300 pounds and are powered by 700 horsepower fuel-injected V-8 engines burning methanol. Defending USCS Asphalt Thunder Champion Kenny Adams of Malabar, Fla., holds the all-time track record at Senoia Speedway at 11.520 seconds for an average speed of 117.188 miles per hour.

The Senoia Speedway event will be the fourth of 18 USCS Asphalt Thunder events on the 2004 schedule, and the tenth on the USCS National schedule. USCS has 50 National events scheduled in 2004, and is the only winged outlaw sprint car series that competes on both paved and dirt tracks.

Along with the USCS Asphalt Thunder winged outlaw sprint cars, the Senoia Speedway Sportsman, Street Stock, Legend, Bandolero, and Pro Challenge Divisions will also be in action. The Pit Gate opens at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, with the Grandstand Gate opening at 4:30 p.m., and qualifying is set for 6:45 p.m.

Senoia Speedway is located 3.5 miles west of Senoia, off Ga. Highway 16 on Brown Road. For more information call the speedway at 770-599-6161 or visit www.senoiaspeedway.com. For more information about USCS, visit www.uscsracing.com.
