Teacher of the Year Finalists Three teachers have been chosen as finalists for 2004 Coweta County Teacher of the Year. Chuck Grovenstein, a health teacher at Evans Middle School, Peter Skrmetti, a social studies teacher at East Coweta High School, and Janice Smith, a second grade teacher at Ruth Hill, were chosen from among 27 school Teachers of the Year. The Teachers of the Year for each of Coweta County's 27 public schools were elected by their fellow faculty members earlier this year. They will be honored at the May 10 Coweta County Teacher of the Year Program at 7 p.m. at the Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts. The Coweta County Board of Education and the Newnan Pilot Club present the program annually, and the 2004 Coweta County Teacher of the Year will be announced at the program.
