Fayette Lady Tigers take fourth in region

The Riverdale Lady Raiders track team took the title this week in the Region 4-AAAAA track championship meet at Starr’s Mill High School.

The Lady Tigers of Fayette County came in fourth with 57 points.

The Fayette County athletes and relay teams who finished in the top six were:

• Cammy Andews, fifth, 400-meter run, 1:01.32.

• Kursten Carr, Starr’s Mill, first, 800-meter run, 2:21.02.

• Claire Bergstrom, Fayette County, second 1,600-meter run, 5:32.15.

• Bergstrom, Fayette County, second, 3,200-meter run, 11:49.69.

• Taylor Barnes, Fayette County, fifth, 3,200-meter run, 13:07.24.

• Khaniesha Pagan, Fayette County, third, 100-meter hurdles, 16.15.

• Andrews, Fayette County, sixth, 300-meter hurdles, 49.77.

• Fayette County, fifth, 4x400-meter relay, 4:09.55.

• Andrews, Fayette County, first, high jump, 5’4.

• Pagan, Fayette County, fourth, triple jump, 34’3”.

• Simone Heath, Fayette County, fourth, shot put, 32’9”.

• Heath, Fayette County, first, discus, 114’9”.

The Region 4-AAAAA boys track meet began Saturday and will continue Monday at Starr’s Mill High School.
