Antioch Baptist Church is one of the five Fayette County Churches celebrating 175 years as a viable congregation. It is the only church to have all its original minutes.

One of their celebratory events was a barbecue luncheon on the grounds with old members and many friends participating. Over 140 people participated in the celebration.

“Though we’re 175 years old, we’re yet a new church,” said the Rev Jerry Garner, who has served the church for the past three years. “We love everyone for who they are and invite previous members and those without a church home to come join us.”

“We look forward to the next 175 years and are planning towards that now,” Garner continued. “Our members reflect Christ in their daily lives, and if you visit us, you’ll decide that ‘this is the kind of church I like.’”

Antioch Baptist Church is located at 110 Brooks-Woolsey Road and can be reached at 770-461-8270.
