‘Rhythm and Rhyme’ deadline is nigh Do you sonnet in the shower? Got a little ditty about Frank and Luanne? Hai - Hai - Hai - kuuuu? Gesundheit! Springtime is poetry time! And the deadline is fast approaching for the Third Annual “Rhythm and Rhyme” poetry and music celebration at the Peachtree City Library. All interested adult and teen poets are asked to submit their best work to be considered for publication in this year’s chapbook. Published poets will be invited to read their work at the “Rhythm and Rhyme” event April 30. Each of the two previous years’ poetry celebrations included poets from a wide variety of “day job” occupations as well as representation from geographic backgrounds as diverse as Scotland, India, Jamaica, and Germany. While many of the participants at past “Rhythm and Rhyme” events have been contributing members of the Peachtree City Library’s Writers Circle, association with the group is not a requirement for inclusion in the “Rhythm and Rhyme” program. Be sure to stop by the library to pick up a copy of the entry form. There is no entry fee and all participating poets whose work is chosen for publication will receive a complimentary copy of the “Rhythm and Rhyme III” chapbook. New this year, writers may submit their work in electronic format either by Email attachment or on a 3.5-inch diskette. All poems and completed entry forms must be submitted by April 9.
