Library hosts poetry contest

You can’t make a living writing poetry, but you could win a $25 gift certificate for your original poem in a local poetry contest.

Submit up to two poems you’ve written by April 12 at 6 p.m.to the Fayette County Public Library, 1821 Heritage Park Way, Fayetteville, GA 30214. Winners will be notified by April 14 and will be invited to read their prize-winning poetry at the library’s annual Poetry Night April 16 from 7:30-9 p.m.

One prize in each of the following categories will be awarded: Children’s I (grades K-2), Children’s II (grades 3-5), Intermediate (grades 6-9) and Adult.

Each entrant can submit up to two original poems. One copy must include poet’s name, address, telephone number and entry category: the second copy must include only the poem.

No poems will be returned.
