Local players fill state tennis rankings

The Peachtree City Tennis Center recently announced state rankings for players who compete regularly at the center, and a large number of local junior players are on the list.

Jenny Shular, 18, of Peachtree City finished 2003 year ranked first in Georgia in the Girls 18 division. She is receiving a full scholarship to Penn State University for the fall of 2004.

Other ranked Peachtree City juniors were:

• Marc Dwyer (1), Boys 16.

• Priscilla Roberts (3), Girls 18.

• Michael Browder (3), Boys 14.

• James Dwyer (4), Boys 18.

• Chris Jordan (4), Boys 16.

• Austin Tilton (5), Boys 12.

• Adrianne Hodges (10), Girls 18.

• Joe Vellanikaran (11), Boys 18.

• Natalie Pluskota (12), Girls 14.

• Chelsea Utting (12), Girls 12.

• Kourtney Kowal (13), Girls 12.

• Sianna Simmons (14), Girls 12.

• Rebecca Timmis (14), Girls 18.

• Nathan She (15), Boys 14.

• Jennifer Betts (17), Girls 14.

• Kendall Wilde (18), Girls 14.

• Stefan James (27), Boys 18.

• Chelsea Utting, 12, reached the semifinals of the Girls 12 National Open in Hilton Head, S.C.
