Here are some highlights from last week’s high school baseball action.

Starr’s Mill opened the week with a 15-0 win Mar. 8 over Our Lady of Mercy. Lithia Springs downed OLM 14-4 in a game Wednesday, while McIntosh beat Landmark 15-1 that same day in Peachtree City.

In that game, Tim Perkins had the only hit for Landmark, and Miles King took the loss on the mound. The War Eagles actually took the lead in the top of the first, but the Chiefs jumped on the board with four in the first and six in the second, never looking back in the five-inning contest.

Northgate defeated Fayette County 7-5 Thursday. Ricky Williams and Drew Ward had home runs for the Tigers.

Also Thursday, Starr’s Mill traveled to Landmark and won a 13-10 slugfest. The Panthers scored in each of the game’s five innings, coming back from a late deficit with four runs in the top of the fifth.

Gwaltney got the win and Kyle Gray took the loss. Top hitters in the game included Landmark’s Trey Strickland, whose grand slam in the fourth gave the War Eagles the lead; Tyler Tidwell, 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI; and Miles King, who went 2-for-4. For Starr’s Mill, Lewis was 2-for-3 with a double, Shell was 3-for-4 and Ramsey went 1-for-3 with an inside-the-park home run.

Fayette County squeaked by Sandy Creek 14-13 Friday. Drew Ward pick up the win in relief, with offensive help from Ricky Williams and Brent Moss, who each homered. The Tigers improved their record to 5-2 overall.

McIntosh closed out the week with a 15-0 win over Our Lady of Mercy.
