Christ the King to host Lenten retreat for clergy March 25 More than 90 members of the Charismatic Episcopal clergy from across the southeast will gather at Coweta Countys Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church next week for a bi-annual Lenten Retreat. The event will begin with an evening service, Thursday, March 25, and will resume the following morning with sessions for ministers. After a communal lunch provided by the Diocese of Georgia in the Fellowship Hall of Peachtree City Church of God, the ministers will have the afternoon free for rest and reflection before gathering for an evening service of Holy Eucharist. A Saturday morning session will conclude the brief retreat. At least five bishops will be in attendance at the retreat with priests and deacons traveling from Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama and Georgia. The evening worship sessions will be served by the worship ministry teams of Christ the King, with the morning session worship led by the Rev. Deacon David Hoffman of the Cathedral of St. Michael and All Angels in Thomaston. The Most Rev. John W. Holloway of Thomaston will serve as host bishop, and Father David Epps will serve as the host pastor. Archbishop Dale Howard of Jacksonville, Fla., will preside over the event. The sessions are limited to clergy of the Charismatic Episcopal Church and will focus on spiritual strengthening and refreshment. Christ the King is at 4881 Ga. Hwy. 34 East, between Peachtree City and Newnan. For additional information, contact the church office, 770-252-2428. |
