PTC First Baptist ladies to host Girgenti art show March 25 First Baptist Church, Peachtree City, is hosting a Thursdays With a Theme ladies salad supper on Thursday, March 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., featuring nationally renowned Christian artist Joyce Girgenti. The cost is $9 per person, or it is free to those who bring a homemade salad or dessert for admission. Reservations are required. In addition to being able to hear Girgenti speak and view her work, those attending will receive one of her prints valued at $40, as well as a sterling charm to commemorate the event. To complete the evening, there will be a contest, with prizes, recognizing the best salads in several different categories. Girgenti is known for hiding Christian images and words in her art work. Her works are in collections from the Georgia State Capitol to the Longworth Building in Washington D.C. She holds the only United States license by Elvis Presley Enterprises to paint Graceland, and to produce limited edition prints. She was commissioned in 2001 to paint Marlo Thomas personal Christmas cards. In 2003, Girgenti was the featured artist for the Red Carpet Tour, at the Augusta National, during Masters Week. Some of her painting themes are religion, golf, seascapes and lighthouses, Memphis landmarks, family scenes, landscapes, florals and gardens, and birds and cherubs.
