College information session set for PTC As part of Your Universitys on-going efforts to bring both academic and continuing education courses to Fayette County, Clayton College & State University will be holding an information session at the Fayette County Higher Education Center Mar. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Wearing green will not be a requirement for the St. Patricks Day event - just an interest in taking academic courses at the Peachtree City Tennis Center-located Fayette Center this coming summer or fall semester. The Information Session is free and open to the public and will cover such academic basics as information on the admission process, financial aid, registration, testing, etc. Additionally, representatives from Clayton States admissions, financial aid, testing center, and records offices will be on hand so that attendees can turn in applications and/or consult individually with University representatives after the general sessions The contact person in the Clayton State Office of Admissions (770-961-3500) for information about the Fayette Center is Anika Chambers, who can also be reached by e-mail from the Admissions website http://adminservices.clayton.edu/admissions/fayette.htm. Directions to the Fayette Center are also available from the website. Following approval by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia in 2003, Clayton State has been offering credit classes for students on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Fayette Center. All courses are part of the core curriculum needed by all Clayton State baccalaureate students, with the exception of the learning support courses that prepare students to take MATH 1101. Clayton State began offering classes in Fayette County in the 2003 fall semester with a small cohort of non-traditional students. As the program grows, it may expand to day classes in addition to the evening courses offered at present. Clayton State, through the Fayette County Center, has also been offering non-credit, Continuing Education and small business development classes since the Center opened on Oct. 1, 2002.
