Tea party is March 5

Break out of the winter doldrums by attending a “Garden Par-tea” at Southern Oaks March 5.

This is the next in a series of themed teas called “Special-teas” held each month. Guests are encouraged to bring a favorite plant cutting or bulb, small potted plant, packet of seeds, etc. and will exchange what they’ve brought so all guests will take home something special for their gardens. There will be demonstrations of how to make a “tussie mussie,” and flower pressing. Owner Michele Cox will also give a presentation on the Victorian language of flowers.

The menu is vegetarian fare, including vegetable quiche, salads, and fruit tarts.

Reservations should be made by three days prior to the tea, but late-comers are welcome. Cost is $20 per person. The tea runs from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.. Call Cox at Southern Oaks at 770-460-0890 to make your reservations. Groups encouraged. For more information, visit www.VictorianAdventures.com
