Fayetteville First UMC will offer Lenten luncheon series

The United Methodist Women at Fayetteville First United Methodist church will once again sponsor a Lenten luncheon series, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 25, from noon until 1 p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. The cost is $2 per person.

Luncheons will continue each Thursday, through Maundy Thursday, April 8, and feature a different speaker each week. Wednesday’s speaker will be Ed Stell.

That same evening, an Ash Wednesday service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

The luncheons will continue weekly with the following speakers: March 4, Forrest Cate; March 11, Rev. Maria Wells; March 18, Mary Rilla Bellury; March 25, Nancy Monroe; April 1, Dave Lee; and April 8, Bob Martin.

On the evening of the last (April 8) luncheon, a Maundy Thursday service will be held in the sanctuary at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Tom Pilgrim conducting the service.

A Good Friday service is scheduled for the next day, April 9, at 8 p.m. in the chapel.

Easter Sunday services are planned for 8:30. 9:45 and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary.
