Banner flap shows city’s priorities wrong

Not to beat a dead horse, but I couldn’t help but notice each week the continuing story of “Crumpton’s banner.” This has gotten so ridiculous, it’s now made the national news circuits and continues to show why Georgia is passing Alabama for the punch-line of jokes.

Many have said, “Rules are rules and the banner should come down.” If that’s the case, my question is, why did it take two and a half years for the city council to enforce the “rule”?

It’s too much of a coincidence that all this has been brought up at the same time as the Ten Commandments issues are headlines. It simply looks to me like someone “not from this area” had their feelings hurt, and the will of the majority has once again bowed to pressures of appeasing those feelings.

Attention, City Council: Have you noticed that the flag flying over Crumpton’s is larger than the flag at the Administration Complex? I guess that will be next on your list.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine had her car broken into at the Pavilion. Don’t worry about the crime and traffic; just enforce what you can handle. Priorities, priorities.
