Comedian Thor Ramsey to appear at First Presbyterian

“Caffeinated Comedy Night,” an evening of standup comedy by Thor Ramsey, is being sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City, Saturday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at the church.

Ramsey, whose comedy has received national critical acclaim, uses an interactive style. He has been seen on comedy programs on the Arts and Entertainment Network, pay-per-views, and PBS. Since he began performing standup comedy in 1987, Ramsey has played hundreds of comedy clubs around the country and has been the featured comedian at numerous church events.

In November 1994 Ramsey says he made a conscious decision to become a follower of Jesus Christ. “You have to pursue show business with a missionary zeal anyway, so I might as well be a missionary for something other than my own ego,” he said.

Although he still performs at comedy clubs, Ramsey also performs in prisons around the country, working with Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship Ministries and Operation Starting Line. He also performs at and promotes events called Pure Comedy Concerts, featuring Christian comedians and a presentation of the person of Christ.

Tickets for the Peachtree City preformance are $5 at the door, or $3 with a donation of staple food for Fayette Samaritans. Babysitting by registration is available at the church by calling 770-487-7757.

First Presbyterian Church is on Willow Bend Road one block from Highway 54 near the Peachtree City library.
