PTC’s Field of Hope deserves city funds

Just when I think my Peachtree City officials cannot embarrass me more, bless their pointy little heads, they come up with something new. I cannot believe the controversy over the $15,000 for fencing for the Field of Hope.

[Councilman Murray] Weed is upset because the Dog Park Committee did not get this same option. Please, let’s get our priorities straight. I am an animal lover but I definitely feel the Field of Hope should be given consideration over a dog park! After all, if exercise is you goal, you can put your animal on a leash and take it for a walk.

We build a boondoggle, white-elephant tennis center that continues to bleed the city of funds and is only used by a small number of residents. We build soccer, basketball and football fields, as we should.

If I were a tax-paying parent of a special needs child, I would be beating down the doors of our city council and other city officials to make equal facilities available to all special needs children. This would only be right. And isn’t there some little thing called the Disabilities Act?

Shame on you, Mayor Brown and Mr. Weed. I pray neither of you ever have to experience a special needs family member.
