Fayette County High School Sports Hall of Fame is looking forward to a new look this spring’s induction.

“If we’re going to do this thing,” said board president Don Apking, “we’re going to do it right.”

The honorary organization was founded in 1998 to recognize to date, the 54 graduates, men and women, who have not only set records in the sports world, but have also made significant contributions to their community and country.

Last fall Apking and Charles Warr, principal of the high school, began talking with ProMaker Marketing, a marketing and public relations firm in Fayetteville. Plans are under way for a new location, a new logo, and a national sports figure serving as master of ceremonies.

The president of ProMaker Marketing is Len Gough, who previously served as marketing director of Clemson University Athletic Department, and for the National Association of Stock Car Racing.

Apking can be contacted at 404-366-1700 and Gough at 770-716-8420.
