Good state showing for local squads
Three local teams recorded top-10 finished in last weekends GHSA state cheerleading championships in Columbus. In AAAA competition, Sandy Creek tied for fifth with Columbus at 233 points. The winner was Winder-Barrow (257), followed by South Forsyth (252), Troup (249) and Woodland (238). Starrs Mill tied for sixth in AAAAA, as Duluth won the title with 275 points. Walton (270) finished second, followed by Chattahoochee (265), Lee County (264) and Brookwood (255). Starrs Mill, Kennesaw Mountain and North Gwinnett each scored 254 points. Landmark (203) came in eighth in A, behind Commerce (239), Brookstone (233), Bremen (221), Pacelli (219), Jefferson (218), Bowdon (211) and Trion (204).
