Landmark game goes nationwide ESPN2 to televise tonight’s SACA matchup Tonight’s high school boys basketball matchup between Landmark Christian and Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy will be televised live on ESPN2. The game, orginally scheduled as a home date for Landmark, will take place at Alexander Memorial Coliseum at Georgia Tech at 8 p.m. The matchup will feature two of Georgia’s top high school basketball programs along with two of the premier centers in the nation in Dwight Howard and Randolph Morris. This contest will mark the teams second meeting of the season. Southwest Atlanta Christian defeated Landmark 71-63 Jan. 10 as Howard finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocked shots while Morris finished with 24 points, 25 rebounds and seven blocked shots. Landmark’s record is 12-7. Morris (7-0, 269) is averaging 25 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks per game this season and is regarded as one of the best centers in the nation and rated as a consensus top 20 player in this year’s graduating class. SACA currently has a 17-0 record and is ranked #19 by USA Today. Howard (6-11, 235), who is averaging 25 points, 18 rebounds and eight blocks per game this season, is ranked as one of the top 5 players in the nation. His teammate, sophomore shooting guard Javaris Crittenton (6-5, 195), is rated as one of the top 10 players nationally in his class. Howard and Morris gained national prominence during the summer of 2003 when their AAU team, the Atlanta Celtics, was featured in Sports Illustrated. Howard and Morris were also featured in ESPN The Magazine’s NEXT issue this past December. Tickets to the event are $10 and available at Ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 404-249-6400. Day-of-game tickets will be sold at the Alexander Memorial Coliseum box office. One dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to the Atlanta chapter of the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer program.
