Evans to play Villages this summer

She’s one of the hottest young female country artists on the circuit today and she’s coming to Fayetteville to perform at the Villages Amphitheater.

Sara Evans will be the final act in the 2004 Summer Concert Series. She will be performing Sept. 11, which makes this concert even more special.

A platinum-selling country star and sometimes Oregon resident, Sara Evans has been topping the charts and racking up the awards since the early ‘90s. Her current single, “Perfect,” has been at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles and Tracks and is currently in the top 20.

Billboard has called Evans “so good she’s scary ... A preserver of the best of country’s history and a progressive writer and singer forging a timeless contemporary sound, she invites favorable comparisons to the best country divas.”

The Evans concert is the sixth in the series, adding an element of diversity to the summer entertainment schedule. The other concerts in the series include Three Dog Night, The Oak Ridge Boys, Neil Sedaka, Ronnie Milsap, and The Swingin’ Medallions.

Series tickets go on sale to the public Saturday, Feb. 7, at Fayetteville City Hall.

The tickets are $150 for tiered seating and $120 for lawn seating for the entire six concerts. They will be processed in the order in which the patrons arrive at City Hall. Payment may be made by cash, check or Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Any remaining single tickets will be sold beginning in early spring. For further information call the Main Street Dept. at 770-461-6029.
