Panthers win Dalton meet By MONROE ROARK The Starrs Mill Panthers wrestling team won the Carpet Classic in Dalton over the weekend. The squad finished with 197 points, ahead of Ringgold (183), Lafayette (164) and Gilmer (96). Of the 11 weight classes the team competed in, nine wrestlers made it to the semifinals, five into the finals and three came away as champions. Here are the individual results for Starrs Mill: Cory Radcliffe (112), fourth; Steven Savage (119), first; Devin King (125), first; Tyler Kourajian (130), third; Michael Cosper (135), first; David Woods (145), second; Tyler Freeman (152), second; Patrick Kellerman (160), second; and Bradley Conner (215), third. McIntosh went to the Mark Toomey Invitational and placed fifth overall as a team. Cameron Hall, Scott Ritter and Thomas Beck each finished second in individual competition, while Davarion Smith and Jeff Patrie each placed third. We wrestled very well, said head coach Nick Bellantoni. In this weeks coaches poll at www.georgiawrestling.net, Starrs Mill ranks eighth in the state in AAAAA, while Landmark is sixth in A.
