Notre Dame, Our Lady to present program

The Notre Dame Club of Atlanta and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School Chorus present An Evening of Music Christmas Carols, a cappella motets and selections from Handel’s Messiah Thursday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m., at Our Lady of Mercy Fine Arts Auditorium, 861 Ga. Hwy. 279 in Fairburn. The high school choral director is Sally Coleman and the Notre Dame Chorale director is Alexander Blachly. Admission is $5 for adults; children under 12 admitted free. Cokes Chapel ladies schedule lunch meeting

The ladies at Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church will have their regular Lunch Bunch meeting Thursday, Jan. 8, at 11:30 a.m. at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant on Bullsboro drive in Newnan. All January birthdays will be celebrated. Cokes Chapel is on Lower Fayetteville Road, near Ga. Hwy. 154, between Peachtree City and Newnan. Community Bible study resumes Jan. 9

Community Bible Study, an interdenominational study program, will resume Friday, Jan. 9 and will continue through April 2004. Classes will meet on Fridays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, 592 Bernhard Rd., south of Fayetteville. This year’s study is on the book of Luke. Lutheran youth plan beach bash

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church Youth Ministry will have a beach bash and live concert by SmallFish Adventures, Sunday, Jan. 11, from 7-9 p.m. in the fellowship Hall of the church. Holloway to speak at Christ the King

The Most Rev. John W. Holloway, D.D., bishop of the Diocese of Georgia, will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. service at Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg this Sunday, Jan. 11. Holloway will administer the Sacrament of Holy Communion and also will install Fr. Paul Massey of Peachtree City as associate pastor. The church is at 4881 Ga. Hwy. 34 east, between Peachtree City and Newnan. The pastor is Fr. David Epps.

Inman welcomes Kerr, Stevens Sunday

Members of Inman United Methodist Church will have a covered dish luncheon this Sunday, Jan. 11, at noon, to welcome their interim pastor, the Rev. Bob Kerr, and new music director, Jolyn Stevens. Inman’s former pastor,the Rev. Doug Burrell, was recently reassigned to North Fayette United Methodist Church. A permanent, full time pastor for Inman will be announced by the North Georgia United Methodist Conference in June.

PTC First Baptist women plan Bible study

The Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Church in Peachtree city will start their new year off with a breakfast and Bible study, Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. Featured speaker will be Dawn Mooring , who will speak on the topic, “Does God still speak?” Those attending will meet all the facilitators for the different Bible studies starting in January. Inman observes Human Relations Sunday

Members of Inman United Methodist Church will observe Human Relations Sunday Jan. 18 by taking a special offering of canned goods and non-perishable items for the Fayette Samaritans food closet. Flat Creek plans adult choir retreat

Choir members of Flat Creek Baptist Church are invited to attend the adult choir retreat Jan. 23-25 at the Georgia Baptist Assembly of Toccoa. Confirmation class begins at FFUMC

The confirmation class for spring 2004 will begin with an orientation class on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 9:50 a.m., at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. The class is open to sixth graders and other youth who have not taken the class. The group will meet in the youth room. North Fayette UMC offers aerobics classes

Brenda Parker, a certified aerobics instructor, offers New Life Aerobics, a nonprofit aerobics ministry, each Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at North Fayette United Methodist Church.
