Investigate coach firing

Subject: Whitewater Middle School Coach Dismissal

To Fayette County Commission Chairman Greg Dunn: I wrote to Sen. Zell Miller regarding the dismissal of Coach Jill Collins as coach of the 8th grade basketball team at Whitewater Middle School. Sen. Miller referred me to your office.

Here are the facts:

1. Coach Collins held try-outs and 11 girls were cut.

2. One of the girls cut during try-outs was the daughter of a Fayette County school board member.

3. Ms. Collins was dismissed as coach.

4. WMS administrator was quoted in The Citizen newspaper stating that Ms. Collin resigned (not true, she was fired).

Mr. Dunn, it is my intention to seek the truth in this matter. If Ms. Collins was dismissed to please a school board member, then resignations are in order at the school administrative level and on the school board. You served in the military to protect freedom, and truth. I ask you to question what happened.
