With county lawmen focusing on arresting animal adopters, are we safer?

Fayette County marshals, Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies, Fayetteville police: With that much law enforcement on our roads, we should feel pretty safe. However, it appears there is not enough crime to go around or crime is at an all-time low. My daughter-in-law has been told she is going to be arrested because she did not have her adopted kitten neutered.

Apparently the shoplifters, purse-snatchers and car-jackers have left the Pavilion and the county. It’s no longer necessary for one of the county sheriff’s deputies to spend the day parked in the cemeteries at New Hope and Ga. Highway 92 or Rivers Road and Lee’s Lake Road waiting for a traffic infraction.

If the county needs a little more money for the coffers, how about spending a little time at the intersection of Hickory Road and Cedar Circle. The solicitor’s office could have a “new” car by the end of the month off fines for that one intersection.

Spend a little time in the BP at hwys. 92 and 85. That’s not a thoroughfare behind the station. If the county needs suggestions on where to patrol crime, I’m sure the residents can offer several recommendations.

My daughter-in-law goes to school, works part-time and the county is going to lock her up to make an example out of her. I can’t decide what expletive would be appropriate to express how I feel about the county’s crime priorities. I believe if I was the officer serving the warrant, I would be too embarrassed to admit why I was there.
