Fayetteville UMC small groups starting in January

The Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will offer several small group studies beginning in January.

“How to be a Friend to Someone in Grief or Loss” will meet Sunday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. Facilitator is Carol Sue Ray. There is no charge to join the group. A workbook is used which is designed to help members concentrate on practical applications of things learned during discussion.

“The Man-in-the-Mirror,” an ongoing men’s Bible study, will meet Monday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Facilitator is Tom Worcester. This, also, is a free class. The study is based on weekly inspirational messages by internationally known motivational speaker and men’s ministry leader Patrick Morley. Registration deadline is Jan. 4.

“The Meaning of Intercessory Prayer” will meet Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 7. Facilitator is Jane Gough and the cost is $11. The study involves Maxie Dunham’s best seller The Workbook of Intercessory Prayer. Childcare will be available.

“Jesus: The One and Only,” is a Beth Moore Bible study facilitated by Maria Wells. The group will meet Tuesday mornings from 9-10:45 a.m. from Jan. 14 - March 31, with no meeting scheduled for Feb. 17. The cost is $20 for a book and materials. Childcare will be available.

Class size for all groups is limited and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. For information, contact Becky Davenport, 770-461-4313.
