No pagan history lesson needed

I guess all of us conservative, right wing, holy-rollers got a good lesson about the Christmas tree. Thank you! However, the whole point of the letter was missed. I don’t believe anything was mentioned about the origins of the Christmas tree. But then again, this is nothing new for the liberals out there, trying to distract the public from discussing the issue at hand.

The real issue is the constant assault on Christians and Christianity in this country. I’m sorry, but I just can’t get away from the question, “Christmas is a religious holiday but why can’t everyone participate and be made to feel accepted?”

Is the only way everyone can be accepted is that the Christian aspects of the celebration be removed? Can you answer this question?

Not to single out any particular religions, it’s just that I am most familiar with the Muslim and Jewish faiths. Muslims celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, in some of the same ways Christians celebrate Christmas, and Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah, with family, sharing a meal, exchanging gifts, praying, and reflecting on faith. I’m sure there are other religions that have celebrations for other holidays that I am not aware of.

Has anyone asked them to change their celebrations so that others can feel accepted? No. I’m sure that Christians wouldn’t ask them to. So why is it that Christians are asked to?

Merry CHRISTmas!
