Local, regional firms merge Geeslin, Cordle, Johnson & Wetherington, LLP (GCJW) has announced its merger with regional accounting and consulting firm Tidwell Dewitt, LLC. The merger will take effect Jan. 1, after which GCJW will operate under the Tidwell Dewitt, LLC name. GCJW currently operates in Peachtree City and Newnan. Tidwell Dewitt, LLC has offices in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Ala. A fifth office is expected to open in midtown Atlanta during 2004. Our goal in combining the firms is to become better, not just bigger, said Robert E. Cordle, Jr. By combining each others strengths in culture and expertise, we hope to create greater opportunities for our clients, staff, and firm. Serving as chairman and CEO will be J. Barry Tidwell. The merger will create a combined firm with 12 partners and close to 60 team members. In 2001, Tidwell Dewitt, LLC was recognized and honored as one of the fastest growing accounting firms in the country according to Bowmans Accounting Report. Both firms have known each other for several years. Tidwell Dewitt LLC specializes in succession planning, business valuations, estate planning and real estate. GCJW has substantial experience in small business consulting, wealth management, audit and tax. |
