Mildred Hazel Kelley Wimberly

Mildred Hazel Kelley Wimberly, 78, Covington, Ga., died Dec. 9, 2003. She was born Jan. 19, 1925 in Carroll County, daughter of the late Carl Gordon and Sarah Murphy Kelley. She was retired from the First National Bank of Florida, and then returned to Coweta County. She was a member of Arnco Baptist Church, were she also served as the church clerk. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Watkins and the Rev. Dr. C. A. Jernigan officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include a son, Charles M. Yarbrough, Covington, Ga.; a brother, Elliott Kelley, Newnan; sisters, Sybil Kelley Camp, Jefferson, Ga., Barbara Ann Jones, Sharpsburg, and Nancy Jean Higginbottam, Raeford, N. C.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

William Curtis Humphreys Sr.

William Curtis Humphreys Sr., 86, Newnan, died Dec. 10, 2003. He was born June 28, 1917 in Nashville, Ga., the son of Francis and Dolly Naomi Chisolm Humphreys. He had served in the United States Army. He was a retired tool and dye maker. Graveside services were at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan, with Brother Paul Stitcher and the Rev. Jan Tolbert officiating. Survivors include his wife, Esther Barker Humphreys, Newnan; sons, William Curtis Humphreys Jr., and Kenneth and Bernice Humphreys, all of Newnan; a grandson, Charlie Humphreys; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Margaret Wright, Valdosta, Ga., and Beth Hall, Donaldsonville, Ga. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Blanche Idella McMichael Phillips

Blanche Idella McMichael Phillips, 92, Newnan, died Dec. 10, 2003. She was born Aug. 29, 1911 in the Raymond community in Coweta County. She was the daughter of Ples and Milor Exor Minix McMichael. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Horace Phillips. She was a member of Whitesburg Christian Church. Graveside services were at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan, with the Rev. Terry Phillips officiating. Survivors include a son, Larry Phillips, Newnan; a daughter, Joyce Phillips Goodrow, Mobile, Ala.; a brother, Edward McMichael, Gay, Ga.; sisters, Letha McGraw, East Point, Ga., Helen Steele, Hapeville, Ga., and Ruth Gilmer, Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Warren Bailey

Warren Bailey, 81, Senoia, Ga., died Dec. 12, 2003. He was born April 22, 1922, the son of William Austin and Sara Frances Brittain Bailey. He was a former post commander in the American Legion Post, Senoia. He was retired from Ford Motor Company and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Fred Kolshorn officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include his wife, Myra Lou Stephens Bailey, Senoia; sons, Jim and Martha Bailey, Warner Robins, Ga., and Charles Bailey and Joe Bailey, both of Senoia; a daughter, Ann Bailey, Atlanta; a sister; Virginia Bailey Fine, Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Bo Bailey, Stephen Bailey, Brittney Bailey, Brooke Bailey, Amber Fitzsimons, and John Bowens; and one great-grandchild, Ivy Fitzsimons. Memorial donations may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, 2325 Luther Bailey Road, Senoia, GA 30276 or the American Cancer Society, 135 Bradford Square, Suite B, Fayetteville, GA 30215.
