Prince of Peace sets Advent services

Members of the community are invited to join members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for “Soup n’ Bread” Advent Suppers on Wednesdays, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17. The group will gather to sing Christmas carols, read the Bible, reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, and look forward to the celebration of Christmas. “Soup ‘n Bread” supper will be served from 5:30-7:15 p.m., and a worship service designed for families with smaller children will be held from 6 - 6:30 p.m. Pedrito and Margarita, puppets, will make an appearance. Abundant Life hosts open house through Dec. 13

Abundant Life Worship Center on Ga. Hwy. 74 invites members of the community to visit its professionally decorated sanctuary from 6-9 p.m each evening through Saturday, Dec 13. Refreshments will be served and a door prize will be awarded. The worship center is across from the golf center north of Tyrone.

North Fayette UMC hosts breakfast with Santa

Children and their parents are invited to a Breakfast with Santa Saturday, Dec. 13, at 9 a.m. The menu will feature sausage links, pancakes, fresh fruit, orange juice and milk. Providence UMC to present ‘Agnus Dei’

B’Nai Israel schedules book fair, Chanukah event

Congregation B’nai Israel will have a book fair at Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Fayetteville Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. Members of B’Nai Israel will sing Chanukah songs and tell the story of Chanukah. Ralph Rentz,Stepfather of one of the synagogue members, will be signing his book, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, The Odyssey of an American POW. LDS to present live Nativity Dec. 13

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Whitewater Ward, will present a live Nativity Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m., at 2021 Redwine Rd. Directions: Traveling south on Peachtree Parkway, turn left onto Redwine Rd and go about .2 miles to see Nativity on left.

Providence plans Breakfast with Santa Dec. 13

Members of Providence United Methodist Church invite families in the community to attend their annual Breakfast with Santa, planned for Saturday, Dec. 13, from 8 a.m. until noon. The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family. Activities will include a pancake breakfast, photos with Santa, a craft fair with local crafters, a Christmas gift wrap station, and children’s craft time. Children’s program is Dec. 14 at Christ Our Hope

The children’s choirs at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church will present their Christmas program, “The Visitor,” at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday, Dec. 14. FFUMC group to visit Governor’s mansion

The Third Thursday group at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will leave the church at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, and travel to Atlanta to visit the Governor’s mansion which has been decorated for Christmas. The group will have lunch after the tour and return to Fayetteville by mid-afternoon. The cost is $1 for transportation, with individuals providing their own lunch costs. PTC UMC to offer divorce recovery series

Those who are recently divorced, contemplating divorce, or separated are invited to attend a 14-week Biblically based course of study on divorce care recovery. The first class will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Peachtree City United Methodist Church, 225 Robinson Road. The series involves viewing a video while taking notes in a workbook followed by group discussion. The group will meet in room 300 from 7-9 p.m. There is no charge for the 14-week study and free child care is provided. You do not have to be a member of the church to attend.
