Brooks UMC to present Shaw’s ‘Many Moods of Christmas’

Members of Brooks United Methodist Church will present their Christmas cantata Sunday, Dec. 21, at 7:30 p.m.

“Last year, we took the long-standing tradition of the cantata to a whole new level by introducing a work that featured our Chancel Choir accompanied by a full symphonic orchestra, including strings, winds and percussion,” a church spokesperson said. “This year’s cantata is no different. We are preparing a masterwork written by world renowned choral director and Atlanta symphony legend, Robert Shaw.”

The title of the musical composition is “The Many Moods of Christmas,” with orchestra arrangements written by Robert Russell Bennett, the arranger frequently called upon by Rodgers and Hammerstein to bring life to their productions through instrumental music.
