How to deal with BOE members A principal friend of mine was once asked, How do you deal with board members? His reply follows: I treat them like any other parent. It is only when they are sitting in a meeting with a quorum of other board members do they have any power that is different from the parent of any other student. If they come to my office, they are a parent, not a board member. Perhaps the administrators and at least one board member in the county need to learn this lesson!
