Kidney donor needed

Peachtree City resident Jamie Forestal needs a kidney from a living donor with type O blood (+ or -).  Doctors say Jamie could lead a normal life with a healthy kidney after successfully fighting Wegeners disease for 11 years, since she was a 16-year-old student at McIntosh High.

The donor must be healthy and at least 18 years old. Donors with high blood pressure or diabetes can not donate.

Prospective donors should call Emory Healthcare Donor Coordinator, Ginny McGrath, at 404-727-8973 or toll free at 1-877-509-9877. Donor prospects will have a phone interview with the coordinator. If determined eligible, the initial blood testing will be scheduled.

Recipients’ healthcare insurance pays associated medical bills. To protect the confidentiality of the donor, all donor medical information will be released only to the donor.
