Motorcycle wreck sends Fayetteville man to hospital By JOHN MUNFORD A Fayetteville man was injured Wednesday afternoon when his motorcycle left the road and struck a mailbox on Ga. Highway 92 south near Lakeview Drive, police said. Richard Lynn Jernigan, 40, was flown to Atlanta Medical Center where he was last reported in good condition, said Capt. Bryan Woodie of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies do not know why Jernigan’s motorcycle left the road, Woodie said. The force of the collision with the metal mailbox pole ejected Jernigan from the motorcycle; he came to rest in the middle of the highway, Woodie noted. Jernigan was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, Woodie confirmed.
