Fayetteville’s Sara Keene stars as the Sugar Plum Fairy in “A Storybook Christmas” presented by the Peachtree City School of Dance.

Keene is a senior honor student at Fayette County High School and has been studying dance since the age of three. She was selected as a Governor’s Honor Student in Dance and participated in a six-week intensive dance workshop.

According to director Kathleen Senger, Keene is a natural for the role of Sugar Plum. “She demonstrates grace, beauty and poise on stage,” said Senger. “Her ballet technique is polished and professional. Sara is a leader and role model for students at our studio.”

Also featured as soloists are Lauren Crist, Emilie Hedou, Mariah Warren and Lauren White. “It is a pleasure to utilize local talent from our studio in major roles,” said Senger. “Dancers gain valuable experience on stage and the community is able to enjoy familiar faces. These young dancers are well on their way to professional dance careers.”

The performance of “A Storybook Christmas” is Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy High School’s auditorium. Phone 770-632-1544 for tickets.
