Boom cars ruining PTC’s peace; crack down

I live in an area of condos in Peachtree City. Over the past few months, the number of boom cars (loud window-rattling car stereos) have become a huge problem here.

There is little that one person can do about it alone, but the neighborhood association has the power to stop the boom cars.

Some cities have tough new laws. Stereo equipment, or entire vehicles can be confiscated on the spot, when the owners violate the rights of others. People are free to report violations, and receive a “bounty” from the heavy fines collected.

Peachtree City needs to enact these same laws, and soon.

Until that time, please, if you are in a position of authority in an association, get serious about the boom cars. Check into any reports and take action. Then follow up to be sure the problem is solved.

Give the residents in your neighborhood a great Christmas gift this year, the gift of peace.
