Poetry contest winner announced

The Fayette Writers Group teamed up with Barnes and Noble to present a poetry contest. The winners were announced at the open mic night at Barnes and Noble last Saturday evening.

Winners in the children’s category were: Annabeth Horner, 1st; Andre Allen, 2nd; Diana Ruppenthal, 3rd; Jesse Gray, 4th and Abby Stokely, 5th. In the adult category the winners were: Joe Spensley, 1st; Frank Hyde, 2nd; Carol Lunsford, 3rd; Lawana Holmes, 4th and Sara DeLuca, 5th.

All of the winners received certificates. The top three winners in the children category received poetry books and all participants also received gift certificates from Chick-fil-A and Krystal.
