What happens if non-profit status is denied?

Re: Ruling “no conflict” for Rutherford. Yes, you are correct; however, keep in mind the so-called no conflict for Rutherford is all pending the federal government approving the non-profit organization prior to Dec. 1 when the prior DAPC employees are under the city controlled jurisdiction.

Yes, I have questioned [Peachtree City Attorney Ted] Meeker’s decision with him. It seems rather speculative as he is going on the premise that the non-profit will be approved.

What happens when and if the federal government does not approve the non-profit? In my research, I have not found a non-profit run by a city in the state of Georgia. I am told that if the non-profit is NOT approved, the venue employees become city employees. What then?

You are correct: if you live in this city you will have conflicts, but none of the other city council members draw their salary from a “city-controlled” agency.

All I am saying is the citizens of PTC should not be told there are no conflicts, when in reality there are and they could get bigger. You are misleading and tricking the citizens of PTC to believe she is conflict-free by making the “Ruling: no conflict for Rutherford” the headline.
