The best kept dining secret in Peachtree City, but not for long

The best kept dining secret in Peachtree City, that is how Scott Tyner refers to Bistro 54, the new restaurant located in the Wyndham Peachtree Hotel and Conference Center. “Our regular customers feel like this is their little secret. They like the quiet, intimate dining, and usually there is no wait to get a seat,” Tyner says.

It is a secret that Tyner does not think will last long.

“We have not been open for very long, so we haven’t yet been discovered by the whole community.”

Opened in August, Bistro 54 aims to offer a unique dining experience for the local community and hotel guests. The restaurant is simply but elegantly tailored. The dim lighting and candles on every table make this a romantic setting, and the fireplace makes it ideal for a cozy winter evening.

“This truly is a one of a kind restaurant in Peachtree City,” Tyner says. “It can be romantic, or it can just be a relaxing place to have great conversation.” Bistro 54 is comfortable and suitable for any occasion, and with no visible bar or kitchen, there is minimal noise to distract from the dining experience.

“There is no need to drive all the way to Buckhead now, because Bistro 54 is an upscale restaurant with competitive pricing, right here in this community,” Tyner says. “We have the highest quality of beef, seafood, chicken and venison, and entrees not typically found on local menus.”

Tyner is the food and beverage manager at the Wyndham Peachtree Hotel and Conference Center, and has eight years of experience in the food and beverage industry. As a seafood lover, he says his favorite menu items include the fresh Maine lobster and the blackened salmon, which comes topped with sautéed crab meat, tomatoes and green onions and “has a little spicy taste to it.” There is also a variety of steaks, venison and surf and turf offered.

For guests wanting lighter fare, Bistro 54 offers soups, salads and sandwiches, and a host of appetizers ranging from honey balsamic glazed ribs to smoked salmon.

Guest favorites include the white asparagus appetizer soup, horseradish encrusted ribeye, bourbon and garlic marinated strip steak, and of course, dessert.

“By far, our most requested dessert is the vanilla ice cream with warm berries,” Tyner says. “I plan to take just one bite, and then it is gone before I know it. It is irresistible.” The dessert consists of blackberries simmered in vodka and sugar, all atop vanilla ice cream with chantilly cream and egg liqueur.

Bistro 54 sees mostly regular customers, which Tyner believes says a lot for the cuisine and service. In addition, Signature Club cards can be purchased yearly, and allow guests to enjoy the excellent food at a fraction of the cost, with as much as a 30 to 50 percent discount applied to the food portion of the meal.

Holiday specials are just around the corner, with a Thanksgiving Day Luncheon Buffet from noon to 4 p.m. planned for Nov. 27, and a New Years Eve dinner package featuring a piano player in the restaurant and a live band at the hotel’s sports lounge.

With beautiful decor, a delicious menu and experienced staff, Bistro 54 is too good to keep a secret for long. Located in the Wyndham Peachtree Hotel and Conference Center on Hwy. 54 in Peachtree City, Bistro 54 is open Tuesday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call 770-487-2000.
