Expos highlight seniors’ transportation options

The Fulton County Office of Aging will host four “Transportation Expos” in November 2003 to acquaint senior citizens with vehicular companies that can take them shopping and to other personal destinations.

Representatives of bus and van companies that provide this service will have displays and talk to seniors about special rates that might be available. They are being offered as an addition to the Fulton County Senior Transportation System (STS), which takes passengers at no charge to senior facilities and non-emergency appointments, and is in high demand.

All Expos will be held 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. as follows:

• Thursday, November 6, 2003 Harriett G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility, 677 Fairburn Road, NW, Atlanta

• Friday, November 7, 2003 H. J. C. Bowden Senior Multipurpose Facility, 2885 Church Street, East Point

• Wednesday, November 12, 2002 Helene S. Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility, 515 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue, Atlanta

• Thursday, November 13, 2003 Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multipurpose Complex, 6500 Vernon Woods Drive, Sandy Springs

The County’s STS is operated by the Georgia Department of Human Resources under contract with the Fulton County Department of Human Services.
