Kedron Target won’t be end of world for north PTC

In the words of Yogi Berra, “This is like deja vu all over again!” To the many Target Store protesters, get over it. Please know that this comes from a longtime Planterra Ridge resident and staunch critic of the Home Depot-Wal-Mart complex. Those in our ranks truly believed life as we knew it would soon end if our city allowed that complex to be built.

Well, it hasn’t happened; life has gone on. Ga. Highway 54 West can be really bad at times. However, by casual observation most cars aren’t going to Wal-Mart. Widening the road and rebuilding the bridge will eliminate those issues. Once completed this “other side of the tracks” will conform and compete with the rest of our community. For this, I am confident.

Most of us moved to Peachtree City because it was a friendly community with good schools and a strong strategic land use plan. Be thankful we’re not faced with north Atlanta’s out-of-control building and off-strategy development.

The Kedron complex was originally designed to support this proposed addition. When you moved here did you really think that large vacant lot was the future home of the dog park?

The Kedron complex needs to be completed as planned; Target fits our community. Would it make you feel better if the developer built two dozen strip center store fronts and left half of them stand empty? Take it from Yogi, “You can observe a lot just by watching.” Trust me; our quality of life will go on.
