SCAT excels at Auburn meet

The Southern Crescent Aquatic Team attended the War Eagle Invitational at Auburn University Oct. 10–12 and placed seventh among nearly 40 teams. More than 1,000 swimmers attended the meet.
“Even though our swimmers have been out of the water for two weeks because of the air structure placement at Kedron, our swimmers swam an outstanding 54-percent personal best times,” said SCAT head coach Jamey Myers. “This is over 100 percent better than last year at this time. So, without much swimming, we were able to perform better than a lot of fast teams. This is due to all the hard work and dedication to dry-land training during the past two weeks.”
Seven SCAT swimmers placed in the top 10 in individual events at Auburn:
• Jessica Heimann — second in the 50- and 100-yard breaststroke, third in the 50 backstroke, fourth in the 50 butterfly and 100 individual medley, fifth in the 50 and 100 freestyle, sixth in the 200 freestyle, and seventh in the 100 butterfly.
