Mexican dance company visits Oak Knoll Elementary School

The Ballet Gran Folklorico de Mexico, an international Mexican dance company performed Friday, October 24 at Oak Knoll Elementary School in East Point. Students were enthralled by the performances given by the company. The company performed many different dances representing various regions of Mexico. The dancers performed to the rich sounds of a live mariachi band and recorded music. The children especially enjoyed the exotic headdresses and colorful costumes worn by the dancers. Students were invited to ask questions about the dancers and the assembly ended with all the students and faculty participating in the Mexican Hat Dance with the spirited company.
