First Presbyterian presents mystery theater

Members of the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City will present a dessert and dinner theater this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 and 25, featuring the play, “Rock Reunion - Melody of Murder”. The plot involves attempts of rock stars in their golden years to raise funds for the Rock Ranch Retirement Home. Characters include “Duane” Newton, “Carla” Simon, Cyndi “Pauper,” “Larry” Manilow and “Ned” Diamond.Tickets are $5 per person and reservations are required. FFUMC ladies set bake sale for this weekend

The Bethany Circle of Fayette First United Methodist will have a bake sale Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24, and 25, from 6-9: p.m. by the gazebo in Heritage Park. Most items are a dollar. Proceeds benefit the The Joseph Sam’s School.

His House hosts turkey shoots beginning Oct. 25

His House Community Church will have a turkey shoot on four continuous Saturdays beginning Oct. 25 and continuing through Nov. 15. Turkeys, hams and other prizes will be awarded for those hitting the target. Those participating may bring their own shotgun or one will be provided. All ammo will be provided by His House. Holly Grove A.M.E. to celebrate Women’s Day

Holly Grove AME Church will celebrate Women’s Day Sunday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. This year’s focus will be “The Power of a Spiritual Woman.” The speaker will be Sister Mary Smith, wife of the Rev. Rufus Smith, pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church in LaGrange. All women in the community are encouraged to attend. Healing service planned at Release Ministries

Release Ministries Christian Center will have a Healing Miracle and Deliverance Service Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. The children will have a Fall Celebration the same night. Peachtree City Christian to host Friend Day

Peachtree City Christian Church will host its annual Friend Day Sunday, Oct. 26. Worship is at 11 a.m. followed by a barbeque lunch and a carnival for the children with mazes, jumping games, pony rides, a rock wall and more. The church is on the corner of Ga. Hopewell grief sessions combined this Sunday

The grief counseling sessions at Hopewell United Methodist Church will be combined into one session this weekend. “Coping due to loss of a child” and “Coping due to loss by suicide” will both be from 4:30-7 p.m. Reservations are required. North Fayette UMC offers aerobics classes

Brenda Parker, a certified aerobics instructor, offers New Life Aerobics, a nonprofit aerobics ministry, each Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at North Fayette United Methodist Church. First Presbyterian offers holiday grief class

First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City will offer a Grief Class to help those who have recently lost loved ones prepare for the upcoming holidays. South Fayette Presbyterian Church will host a free music festival Saturday, Nov. 1, featuring Branch, Jynx, Eclectic Roots, Jesse Hardin, and Citizen. Music Starts at 5 p.m. at the Calvin Center (13550 Woolsey Road).

St. John AME Women’s Day activities continue

St. John A.M.E. Church in Fairburn will continue its Women’s Day celebration with activities scheduled through Nov. 9. The theme is “Women Renewing Mind, Spirit and Heart.” Minister Sylvia Stroy of Ray of Hope will speak at the 8 a.m. service on Nov. 9, and evangelist Dorothy Norwood will speak at the 11 a.m. service.
