SCAT hosts first meet of season

The Southern Crescent Aquatic Team recently hosted its first meet of the season, competing against the Milledgeville Bobcats and the Chattahooche Gold. SCAT was able to pull out a victory in the female team championships by over 100 points but narrowly lost the overall team battle.

Based on seed times SCAT was expected to finish 250 points behind the Gold team. However, when all the points were tabulated, SCAT finished only 16 points behind the leader.

“More important than the team total was the effort put forth by ever SCAT team member,” said head coach Jamey Myers. “The competition swam well, but SCAT was outstanding!”

Swimmers achieving 100 percent best times in all races were Beth Allaire, Brandon Armstrong, Missy Beall, Kristen Boher, Alexa Cocker, Matthew Ferguson, Julie Glass, Keaton Hannon, Christina Harding, Jessica Heimann, Matthew Hildebrand, Ariane Leblond, Diana Massengale, Katie Mitchell, Erica Pauly, Kelsey Pratt, Kaitlin Rassett, Hannah Rich, Grace Robertson, SamChun Shimabe and Haley Smith.

Swimmers achieving outstanding drops in time were Jordan Schumacher, Hannah Rich, Alexa Cocker, and SamChun Shimabe.
