Flat Rock A.M.E. announces Women's Day activities

The Women of Flat Rock African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church will hold their Annual Women's Day Revival Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Oct. 8, 9, and 10, and their Women's Day Program Sunday, Oct. 12. The Rev. Cassandra Wheeler Hall of St. Phillips A.M.E. Church will deliver the message for the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service and Presiding Elder Ella Mae Smiley will present the message at the 3 p.m. service. For more information, call 770-460-6446. Bethany UMC schedules World Crafts Sale Oct. 11

Bethany United Methodist Church will have its second annual Ten Thousand Villages Crafts Sale Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Arts and crafts from all over the world will be featured. Benefits go to local artisans in third world countries. Items include musical instruments, pottery, jewelry, baskets, toys, creches, hand-loomed textiles and more. Christ the King men's group meets Oct. 11

Whitewater Baptist in Brooks plans revival Oct. 12-17

Former Whitewater pastor Randy Gardner will be the guest preacher during revival services at Whitewater Baptist Church in Brooks, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 12 through Friday, Oct. 17. Services will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Outreach International's grief recovery group meets Oct. 14

Trinity Christian School plans consignment sale Oct. 18

Trinity Christian School will have its annual children's consignment sale Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. until noon. A half-off sale will be held for all remaining items between 2 and 3 p.m. Items available will include children's clothing sizes birth to preteen, maternity clothes, toys and equipment from more than 125 consignors. Clothing will be in good condition and displayed on racks. The school is 1.5 miles west of Peachtree City at the intersection of Ga. Hwys. 34 and 54, behind Collector's Corner.

Cancer support group open to the community

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church offers a Cancer Support Group on the third Thursday of the month (September through May) at 6:30 p.m. in the Bride's Room. The purpose of the group is to offer encouragement and support to both long-term cancer survivors as well as those recently diagnosed. Guest speakers share information on various topics such as nutrition, treatment options, and tips on finding the right doctor. Each year group members sponsor a team in the Relay for Life, a walk-a-thon fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The group is open to the community. S.A.G.E. Junaluska trip is this weekend

The S.A.G.E. (Senior Adults Going Everywhere) ministry at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church is planning a fall getaway to the mountains of western North Carolina Oct. 10 and 11. The group will travel to Lake Junaluska for an overnight stay. The cost is $114 per person and includes transportation, one night's stay at the Lake Junaluska Hotel (sharing a double room), three buffet meals at the hotel and an evening concert by the Lake Junaluska Singers. Flat Creek Baptist's revival is Nov. 9-12

Members of Flat Creek Baptist Church will have a revival Sunday through Wednesday, Nov. 9-12, with guest evangelist Gene Williams and music evangelist Billy Jack Green. Sunday services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Weekday services will begin at 7 p.m. Flat Creek is on Flat Creek Trail between Ga. Christ Our Hope offers Wednesday Communion

Wednesday evening Communion services are held each week at 7:10 p.m. at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church on Ga. Hwy. 138. The service is a brief, spoken service with a period of silent prayer and meditation. Third Thursday group to visit cotton plantation

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church's Third Thursday group (senior citizens), will travel to Juliette for a tour of the 150-year-old Jarrell Cotton Plantation Thursday, Oct. 16. The group will leave the church at 8:30 a.m. and will return mid-afternoon. The cost of the tour is $4 and includes transportation. Lunch plans will be announced. First Presbyterian offers holiday grief class

First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City will offer a Grief Class especially designed to help prepare for the holidays without that special loved one recently lost. The men at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church have monthly breakfast meetings the fourth Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the church. Christ Our Hope is at 2165 Ga. Eating Disorders Anonymous meets Wednesdays

Eating Disorders Anonymous, a faith-based 12-step program for people with eating disorders, meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Room 302 at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church, Robinson Road Campus, 225 Robinson Road. EDA is a fellowship of individuals who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that in sharing their common problems, they may help others to recover from their eating disorders. Each meeting consists of a devotional or Bible study followed by a period of discussion and sharing. The group is open to high-school-age students and adults. FUMC ladies collecting bric-a-brac for craft show

The United Methodist Women at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church are collecting bric-a-brac for their upcoming November Craft Show, scheduled for Nov. 15. Seniors invited to join 'McFolks' at MRBC

Senior adults in the community are invited to be a part of the 'McFolks' group at McDonough Road Baptist Church. The group participates in out-of-town trips, local get-togethers, and has its own choir at the church. The Senior Singing Adult Choir meets on Wednesday mornings. Ladies exercise classes offered at Tyrone FBC
