Chamber officials participate in Fly-In

The Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives held its 2003 Washington Fly-In Sept. 24-26 with over 75 executives in attendance.

Fayette County Chamber Volunteer Marion Wells, All State Insurance and Fayette Chamber President, Elissa Hall attended this year's event.

The Washington Fly-In offers chambers executives and their volunteer leadership the opportunity to meet as a group with their elected officials. The Fly-In is also held in conjunction with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce's Annual Congressional Staff Appreciation Reception.

During the three-day trip, participants were briefed on transportation and healthcare issues by staff lobbyists from the US Chamber of Commerce. The GACCE contingent also met with US Senators Saxby Chambliss and Zell Miller. After a briefing from the US Department of Homeland Security, participants met with their individual US Representatives. The trip was capped off with a tour of the White House.
